What To Expect For LTL (Common Carrier) Shipments

  1. Once your order ships, you will receive an email from us with your final invoice as well as tracking and contact information for the common carrier. This will give you an estimated delivery date. The shipment may arrive sooner or later than this estimated date.

  2. Once the shipment reaches the delivery terminal, the carrier will call you to schedule a delivery date. The carrier will require a 3–4 hour window for the delivery. This can be scheduled up to 3 business days after the date of the call. Please keep in mind that, due to the weigh and size of the material, standard LTL deliveries are made with a full-size semi-truck with a 43′ trailer.

  3. When the truck arrives on site, the driver will move the freight to the tail of the truck. From there, it is your responsibility to unload the truck by hand and place the boards on the ground. Please inspect the material as you unload it to ensure nothing is damaged or missing. If anything is damaged or missing, please indicate it on the delivery receipt and contact your Advantage Lumber, LLC sales rep.

  4. Once the truck has been unloaded, please follow proper acclimation instructions prior to installing the material. These instructions can be found here.
