WORKING PROPERTIES Easy to glue, and takes stain and finishes very well. But due to its incredible density, Live Oak is tougher to work with than other types of oak.
DURABILITY Live Oak is extremely strong and has very good resistance to decay.
USES Cabinetry, furniture, interior trim, flooring, boatbuilding, barrels, and veneer.
COMMENTS Historically, it has been used in shipbuilding, and was even used in the construction of the USS Constitution, better known as "Old Ironsides".
