| DESCRIPTION | Jarrah is a dark red wood from Australia. It is a very durable, strong lumber. Usually straight grain with even but moderately coarse texture. Very durable and   highly resistant to insects. Excellent for outdoor projects.  |

| WORKING PROPERTIES | The density of Jarrah as well as its irregular grain patterns makes working with both hand tools and power tools difficult . It holds nails well. Care must be taken when sanding this lumber. | 
| DURABILITY | Very durable. Moderately dense lumber. | 
| USES | Flooring, decks, exterior trim and siding, accent pieces, joinery, veneer | 
| COMMENTS | The tree itself can be quite large - up to 150 feet tall and 5 feet in diameter. |
